Blog 4- Impact of photoshop

In my humble opinion, Photoshop has greatly impacted our society. Unfortunately since it's accessible to everyone, people can use it in terrible ways. I believe what the articles say about Photoshop. I believe that Photoshop can be used to create unbelievable art, but it can also be used to make someone's body look disturbingly out of proportion. I'm heavily against using Photoshop or anything to edit yourself to look attractive and unrecognizable. I believe everyone is beautiful in their own way. I've also seen how some people struggle because they feel bad about their looks. I'm just happy that there are many celebrities that are against editing their bodies and that support people.

Dream a Little Dream

For me, dreams are like this image, unrealistic, ugly and without any sense. I believe that a dream could also be memories from the past but with things changed. In the animated war documentary, "Waltz with Bashir", Ari Folman has a dream where he is in an ocean during the Lebadon War. He gets out of the ocean once he sees flares shooting out of the sky. In the film he talks to his old friends about the war, but none ever recall the ocean. It is later revealed in the end, that he never went to the ocean, but in reality he was involved with a horrible massacre and that he made up the whole thing with the ocean so he could forget the massacre.

Blog 1- Hire an Illustrator

The thing that I like about this image the most is the eeriness of it. I also draw a whole bunch of unnerving or creepy drawings, like this one. I also relate with the artist, Brendan Purchase, a lot. It seems that we both like many of the same stuff, like the Hellboy comics and other horror based works. He also has worked with many companies that I would dream to work with. These include Dark Horse and Image comics. For me these two comic companies are a huge inspiration for my works. I would also love to put try to put my distinct style in my future Digital Art, but that may take time since I'm just now getting more and more familiar with Photoshop. I plan on adding some of these horror based elements once I start studying film (that's if I manage to get good grades and transfer successfully).  For me, horror in film has lost it's way and isn't as good as it once was. As someone who wants to make good horror movies (like the ones that keep you thinking about what you saw for days), it makes me happy to see art that is creepy/unnerving without the use of cheap jump scares and a bunch of the crap horror movies do now.
